So all summer long I've been talking about my daughter's planned fall semester abroad in Mongolia and it seemed so far away that it wasn't really real to me....fast forward and now we are heading to the airport this Saturday!!!! I can't believe it is here already. So I made this card with Caitlin in mind.
I'm continuing with the recycling challenge. The gold panel on the left is acetate from a package of fancy soaps (Caitlin pulled these out to take a bar along as part of a hostess gift), the tag is from a pair of jeans, the brick is from a brochure for a seminar and the globe, wallpaper piece, and sentiment were from my stash of "rejects" The light blue was embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper ef which had been inked on the raised part with Bashful Blue ink. I also added some sponging after distressing. The ticket was ticket corner punched then I drew the lines, crumpled and sponged it too. The globe was embossed in gold and sponged. I embossed the card base and added some sponging. I added some distressed hemp to the tag and called it done!!!

Now this is exactly what I'm talking about, Gail. This is so my style (in my mind only). I love your collage. How fantastic. Best wishes and safe journey for Caitlin. That's a long way from home, mom.
